Rental Terms and Conditions
These Rental Terms and Conditions apply to all actions of the user during the rental period through the advance reservation and prepayment services provided by HOUZUKI Co., Ltd. for rental equipment. Special Provisions By using this service, the user acknowledges and agrees to the following special provisions.
1. The user acknowledges that skiing and snowboarding involve risks of injury to oneself or others, and that these risks are also associated with the use of rental equipment.
2. The information regarding the user's age, height, weight, boot size, and skiing level is accurate as stated in the attached application form. ※For ski users aged 50 and above, the ski release value is set to -1 below the adjustment chart value corresponding to height and weight according to each manufacturer’s guidelines.
3. The user has received and understood an explanation of how to use each rental item and its functions. Improper use may result in accidents and damages to oneself or third parties. During the rental period, the user is responsible for using the rental equipment appropriately.
4. Ski, snowboard, bindings, boots, and other rental items may not detach from the user's feet in all situations, and thus do not fully guarantee safety.
5. The user has received and understood an explanation regarding the included snowboard leash (retention strap) and its proper use. Failure to use it appropriately may cause serious accidents to oneself or others. The user assumes full responsibility during the rental period. If the leash is lost, a fee of 1,000 yen per item will be charged upon return.
6. The user will try on or test-fit the rental equipment on the rental day to ensure proper fit and size.
7. The user will inspect the rental wear on the rental day to confirm there are no holes in the pockets or other damages.
8. The user is responsible for the management of valuables and personal belongings.
9. Do not enter park areas. Rental equipment is not designed for use in park areas. Damage incurred in park areas is not covered by the damage waiver.
10. If the rental equipment is returned after 5:00 PM on the scheduled return date, an overtime fee of 10,000 yen per hour will be charged.
11. (For minors) It is confirmed that the guardian has given consent for this rental agreement.
12. If using the prepayment or reservation services, the damage waiver fee is included in the rental fee. However, in cases of theft, loss, or mix-up due to user negligence, and if the rental item cannot be returned, the following compensation will be charged: ① Skis/Snowboards: ¥30,000 ② Poles: ¥10,000 ③ Wear: ¥30,000 ④ One boot: ¥5,000 ⑤ Accessories: ¥3,000 each
13. The damage waiver fee mentioned above is non-refundable even if no damage occurs.
14. No refunds will be issued for rental fees already paid, even if lifts or gondolas are suspended due to bad weather. Please check weather information yourself in advance.
15. The company and its staff are not legally liable under any circumstances for damages caused to the user or third parties resulting from accidents due to the user’s selection, installation, or adjustment of rental equipment, careless usage, or unexpected dangers of the equipment.
16. For snowboards, bindings are pre-set to beginner/intermediate angles by the store. If you have specific preferences, you may adjust them yourself after rental. However, loosening screws or metal fittings increases accident risk, and adjustments are not recommended. Please do so at your own risk.
17. [To customers using Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort] To provide a comfortable experience, our rental skis and snowboards are waxed before lending. Due to the extremely gentle slopes of beginner courses at Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort, some users have reported difficulty sliding even with our waxed equipment. We do not recommend using our rental equipment at Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort for this reason. Refunds will not be issued based on this reason.
18. Please make sure to try on your rental items before boarding any lifts or gondolas at the ski resort. Your cooperation helps prevent late discovery of any damage to items at the top of the slopes.
